On a night when many pundits predicted Denver would give up 50+ points to the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs and their franchise QB Patrick Mahomes, the Broncos hung in there and stifled their division rivals for most of the game, taking a 10 point lead deep into the 4th quarter.
Sorry, but just as there is no crying in football, I’m not handing out moral victories to the 2018 Broncos. No, sir. No, ma’am.
The Broncos had every opportunity to win this game and take control of the AFC West; however, in typical Vance Joseph fashion, they folded and showed us their true colors. They allowed the Chiefs to come back and score 14 points in the 4th to seal the deal. And that’s just unforgivable. As every fan knows, no loss stings more than a close loss.
Tonight, I urge everyone who is a true Broncos fan to NOT be proud of their team’s effort tonight. It was all for naught. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Do you think Denver will be this competitive when they play against the Chiefs at Arrowhead later this month? Don’t kid yourself—that will be the blowout many thought tonight would be.
So what’s next for the Broncos now that they’ve lost 6 STRAIGHT GAMES TO THE CHIEFS? How about the bottom of the goddamned AFC West?
Seriously, do you trust this team against the Chargers, who blanked the Broncos in Carson last year (and put up one hell of a fight at Mile High)? Or how about the Raiders, who lost to us by one point in Week 2, despite Derek Carr’s incredible completion rate?
Bottom line: you should have no trust in this team. While we fans have yet to experience a real blowout loss, rest assured that is coming. At 2-2, the Broncos are staring into the deep abyss where they know they shall soon fall.
FIRE VANCE JOSEPH.
